I am currently a freshman at the University of Florida pursuing a double major in Psychology and Health Sciences, specializing in Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience and Applied Brain Sciences respectively. I am a native Spanish speaker born in Bogotá, Colombia, and I learned English as a second language upon moving to the U.S as a child. My bilingual background and upbringing heavily influences my research interests, and I’m particularly interested in the intersection between the neurocognitive and social aspects of language. Outside of BLAB, you can find me involved with various organizations such as Dance Marathon, the Member Leadership Program of the Hispanic Student Association, and Impacto, where I teach English to Hispanic immigrants here in Gainesville. I am excited and honored to join BLAB this semester as an undergraduate RA and look forward to growing as a researcher and student.
