I am a fourth year grad student and NSF-GRFP fellow. My broad research interest is language learning across the lifespan. More specifically, I want to understand the earliest neural and behavioral signatures of language learning in its initial stages. Currently, my research focuses on language learning in older adults (65+) and the potential differences in language learning as an effect of factors such as age of learning and previous language background (e.g. bilingual experiences). I work with both Dr. Rossi and Dr.Kaan, and I utilize EEG (ERPs and oscillations) as well as behavioral techniques. As a bilingual heritage speaker of Spanish and a first generation student, I make an effort share as much as I can and am happy to help prospective graduate students from all backgrounds. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, cooking, or adding way too many miles on my little rav4 by exploring new places.
